Wilderness Resort Family Vacation
My son wanted to go to a water park hotel for his birthday this year. I knew immediately Wilderness Resort was the place to go and celebrate. The Wilderness Territory has 4 indoor waterparks, 4 outdoor waterparks, and over a dozen attractions, and delicious restaurants to choose from. It is endless fun, and has something for everyone to enjoy! The great thing about Wisconsin in the winter is having an amazing place to visit and swim where it’s always warm indoors!
On our first night, we visited the Wild WaterDome Waterpark, where you can experience The Great Wave, which happens to be the world’s largest indoor wave pool! We also took Porter down the Dueling Mammoths family raft ride, which he absolutely loved. We may have gone down this ride about a gazillion times, ha! After hours of fun, we all worked up an appetite and grabbed some pizza from Klondike Pizza Kitchen. The best part, is we could go back to our room, order the pizza and have it delivered right to us.
After resting up, we got up bright and early for breakfast, a fun activity over at Polka Dot Pots, then got our swimsuits on for adventures at the Klondike Kavern Waterpark. We enjoyed endless rides, relaxed on the lazy river, and checked out the Wild West Waterpark on our way back to our room. This park is newly renovated with four brand-new thrill slides! It also features a brand new YeeHaw’s Watering Hole swim-up bar and reimagined western-themed cabanas!
The day didn’t end there! We enjoyed a delicious birthday dinner at Sarento’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria. The best part is there was a shuttle that brought us to dinner, and back to the hotel! We couldn’t stop the birthday fun just yet, so we headed to Timberland Playhouse. The kids and dad got to climb around and work off their dinner before hitting the arcade!
At the end of the night, the kids both looked at me and said, “We never want to leave this place!” I think mom got lots of brownie points for this trip, and were already planning our next adventure back!
